Community Service - Prayas Visit

A fun-filled day with children of Prayas On 24th May 2018, Girls of class VIII visited the NGO Prayas Juvenile aid centre(JAC)  at Tughlakabad  to spent some time with the girls there .Prayas is a humanitarian, gender-sensitive and child-focused development organization with a vision to restore the lost childhood of children in need of care, protection and development. Our school girls sensitized themselves towards community services by understanding the lifestyle and problems of the girls at the center . Girls of class VIII engaged them in dry cooking, (Sandwiches and Roohafza drink) Hankey making and Pottery making activities  .All of them enjoyed a lot in doing these tasks. They made it a fun filled session with their dance steps and songs too. Vision of Prayas is to provide care to neglected, street and working children and the marginalized. It visualizes a world that protects children’s rights. As reported by our school girls they liked this field trip a lot as it was a totally new and different experience for them. They learnt that they can actually make a difference by their small steps and understanding. This type of community service visits helps students better understand their own competence, leading to more self-confidence and a can-do attitude that can spread to their work and academic pursuits.
