Field Trips and Excursion
VISIT TO RED FORT
Visit to Red Fort -20.2.2020 (Class-VIII-A, B, C and D) The students of class VIII went on an educational trip on 20 February 2020 to Red Fort, which is rightfully regarded as the ‘Crown of Indian Heritage’. The main motto of the trip was to familiarize the students with the Islamic architecture, the history associated with the fort and so on. The students witnessed , ‘Chhata Bazaar’, ‘Diwan-e-Khas’, ‘Moti Masjid’, ‘Subhash Chandra Bose museum’, ‘Yaad-e-Jallian’ and so on. The history and facts associated with each place was well explained by the Social Science faculty, Ms Poonam. The students enquired a lot and showed their curiosity in gathering knowledge and facts. Overall, it was a great learning experience for the students. Teachers’ accompanied-Ms Poonam, Ms Namrata, Ms. Kapila, Ms Parul.
VISIT TO QUTUB MINAR (CLASS VII)
Our school organized an educational trip to Qutub Minar for the students of class VII on 27th November 2019. The students were amazed to see Qutub Minar, the tallest building in India of the ancient times that forms a part of Qutub complex, a UNESCO world heritage site in Delhi. As the students walked along the complex, the shadow of the tall minaret with a great history took them into the past. The little historians couldn’t conceal their curiosity and asked many questions as they learned about the history and architecture of the breath-taking monument. They were equally fascinated to see the ‘Iron Pillar’, situated within the complex, and the inscriptions on it written in various languages. The students thoroughly enjoyed the trip and came back with a pandora box of knowledge which made the excursion fruitful and joyous.
Visit to Aravali Biodiversity Park
East Point School took the children to Aravali Biodiversity Park on 29TH November, 2019. The park is situated near Vasant Vihar and is being developed at 693 acres of land that was over mined and completely infected with Prosopis Juliflora (Vilayati kikar) and has lost indigenous biodiversity. The major portion of the park is rocky and devoid of soil and vegetation cover. Over 175 bird species are reported to inhabit in this park. With its different habitat types and ecosystems having many rare and endangered flora and fauna, the park serves as a live museum and laboratory for promoting environmental education. The trip was a lifetime experience for the students as they got acquainted with the diverse and rich flora and fauna of the park. In the first nature trail the children were taken to a Herbal Garden and shown various species of medicinal plants and told about their uses. Then they visited the Butterfly Conservatory where they learnt about the lifecycle of a butterfly and observed its various stages. The children also visited Orchidarium and studied about the plantation of orchids. The visit to the "Aravali Biodiversity Park" was fun as well as an enriching learning experience.
Day Camp - Class 1
he students of class 1 enjoyed a Day Camp on Conservation of Water held on Friday, 13 September 2018. It was a fun filled day where the children were engrossed in activities including experiments with water, art and craft activities, story session on water cycle and many more. The students understood the importance of water and how we can use it wisely.
Exquisite View of Himalayas
Our school children were privileged to be a witness to an exquisite collection of 75 scrupulously picked photographs By Deb Mukharji, exhibited at India International Centre on 18th February 2019.The photographs spilled the beauty that surrounds the serene imagery of Himalayas which had been captured over the past six years. Children got a chance to catch a glimpse of wonders like Dronagiri, Bhagirathi Peaks, Roadside Waterfall , etc.The Mansarovar lake was perfectly clicked as described in Banabhatta’s Kadambari. The children were beguiled by the sheer perfection and clarity of the images at this exhibition.Deb Mukharji interacted with the students where he shared his personal experience whilst the expedition to Kailash. The children listened with awe and returned with the inspiration to scale heights.
Trip to Doll's Museum
Our little East Pointers of class Nursery visited the Doll’s museum on 13 September 2018. Children were excited to see dolls from different parts of the world dressed according to their tradition and custom. It was a memorable and fun filled learning experience for our tiny tots.
Trip to Bal Bhawan -Class 1
Student of class 1 had a fun filled educational trip on Tuesday 4th September '2018.Children were exposed to variety of activities like clay modelling , paperfolding,singing etc.
National Rail Museum -Class 2
The students of Class 2 visited National Rail Museum on 19thSeptember, 2018. They immensely enjoyed the ride through the museum ground.They also went for a tour of the museum where they were familiarized with wide array of models of engines.
Trip to National Bal Bhawan - Class 1
The students had a fun filled educational trip to the National Bal Bhawan on Tuesday, 4th September 2018.The children were exposed to a variety of activities which included clay modelling, paper folding, singing amongst a few. All the children were very happy.
Educational Trip to National Museum
East Point School promotes educational trips to refine the skills of students in various fields. Class 4 was taken to National Museum at Janapath on 6 July 2018 for tracing out genius history of evolution and development which played a significant part in regeneration of India. The students of class 4 had an opportunity to visit the gallery devoted to modern arts and crafts, the gallery exhibiting different civilization such as Mohenjodaro, Mesopotamia etc. The Children were fascinated by the arms and armours section where in different weapons were displayed which were used by the kings and soldiers of different dynasties.
VISIT TO AGRICULTURAL CHEMICAL LAB
On 24th May 2018, East point school organized a laboratory visit for class 12th, in which students from science stream were taken to Division of agricultural chemicals of premier research institute Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Pusa campus. Prof. Virender Rana spared his precious time with the students to provide them an insight to the chemical analysis of synthetic compounds, conducted in laboratories . Students were divided into groups for a tour to various labs in which Rotatory evaporator fractional distillation, its working was explained with a small demonstration of certain precautions essential while working with it. Students were then sensitized with the working of thin layer chromatography, gas liquid chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy, there principle was explained by the scientist working in lab and the working was shown including observations of some sample. Students were excited by seeing the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance chamber with its high magnetic power. In the nutshell, it was a practical exposure to the text students read from the book.
Day Camp- Class VI
Nothing beats the excitement of having a hands-on experience and
the learning through it. As a part of Social
Science enrichment, students of Grade 6 were taken for an Educational trip to
Anandgram on 11th may 2018. Anandgram, a Sanskriti
Foundation, was set up about 25 years back. The
students got a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of our country. The
students were given a guided tour of the Art, terracotta & textile museums.
They were also shown short films on different forms of embroideries practiced
in our country. The students thoroughly enjoyed the clay statues of Terracotta
form and textiles from different states of India. Anand Gram also hosts
innumerable articles showcasing the lifestyle of different periods in the
Indian History like the Indus Valley civilization, the Mauryan Period, and the
Post Mauryan Period.
This trip was a break
in routine and adventure that opens up children’s minds to new learning.
Overall, it was a very good outing and a great learning experience for not only
the students but the teachers as well.
FOLLOW UP ACTIVITIES
After the
field trip, the students were divided into three groups based on the museums
visited by the students in Anand Gram to assess and enhance their learning
during the field trip. The students actively participated in the activities and
showcased their creativity while doing clay modeling and textile designing. The aim of the activities was to spread
knowledge of India’s rich heritage and art forms among the students.

VISIT TO NEHRU PLANETARIUM
Class III went for an educational excursion to the Nehru Planetarium on Wednesday (18.04.18) with a total strength of 137 students. Children first viewed the space gallery, where teachers talked to them about different celestial bodies and spaceships displayed. Following this the children were taken to the sky-hall. They were all exhilarated by the ambience of the dark hall and enjoyed the celestial images thoroughly.
They were all taken to a shady space for lunch. Following the lunch, we went to Nehru memorial. Children talked about our freedom struggle. They were fascinated to see the actual pictures of the freedom fighters. Teachers kept them aware by showing them the pictures and briefing about them as well. An information packet trip on the whole.
Day Camp- Class 1
The students of class 1 enjoyed a day camp on the Wonders of Water on Thursday, 19 April, 2018. It was a fun filled day where the children were engrossed in activities including experiments with water, rain dance, story sessions on conservation of water and many more. All the children were very happy and enjoyed each moment.
visit to the National Zoological Park
The students of class 1 were taken on an educational tour to the National Zoological Park on the 8th of February, 2018. They were also apprised about the need to conserve wildlife. The children were very excited to see the animals and enjoyed their trip.
Day Camp - Class 5
"A tribute to the freedom fighters" was held on 29/12/17 . Students were shown a video based on India's journey towards freedom which was followed by a quiz. Then they visited the Parliament museum where they were exposed to the important events held in the history of India. After the visit a follow up worksheet and a timeline activity was done in school. The timeline activity was done in groups wherein the students had to arrange 25 historical events in serial order.
Day Camp- Class 3
Science day camp was conducted on 22nd December’2017 for class 3 in our school.The topic was “Light and Shadowâ€.Various activities were conducted including experiment based on phenomenon of light i.e ‘Reflection & Refraction’ .Measuring variation in length of the shadow under the sun , Identifying whether object is transparent, translucent or opaque. Students also explored the various characters of a shadow.The day camp was followed by a quiz. Students participated enthusiastically in all activities & experiments to understand the concept of ‘Light & Shadow’.
Day Camp-Class 3
Maths day camp was conducted on 08.12.2017.The topic was Measurement of Weight. Various activities were conducted like weighing of light objects , checking their own weight using weighing machine , weighing different articles using electronic weighing machine. Students participated enthusiastically in the activities to understand and apply the concept of weight.
Day Camp-Class 4
Students had a Math Camp on 11.12.2017 in the school. Students have done various activities related to the concept of perimeter. Activities were done outdoor to give students did real life experience of the concepts.Children enjoyed all the activities and were able to do them successfully.
Day Camp-Class 1
The students of class 1 had a day camp on 19.12.2017 on the Animal Kingdom. The children after making headgear of their favourite animals were divided into groups and were made to weave a story around these animals. They were then taken outdoors to identify the homes and young ones of these animals and finally drew their favourite animals and wrote about them which was displayed on the boards. It was a fun filled day where the children enjoyed all the activities.
Trip to Bal Bhawan-Class 2
Our school organized an educational trip to National Bal Bhawan on 12th Dec,2017 which was an enriching experience for everyone.The students were very curious to know, learn and explore about wall painting, clay modelling, weaving Madhubani painting etc made by young students. They were happy to see various kinds of fishes at Jawahar Aquarium. They also learnt to protect the environment and preserve the resources for future use.
Class IX Environment Club
Environment club students of class IX, went to Bio Diversity Park on 15th December 2017 to learn about the bio diversity of Delhi. They learned how a barren land can be converted to fertile land which has been the habitat of several species of plants and animals. Students also saw many migratory birds. It was an educational and enriching trip for the students.
FIELD TRIP TO ZOO
The tiny toddlers of nursery were taken on an excursion to the zoo on 6th December. It provided wonderful exploration of the wildlife to the children by making real world connection. Children hopped on a battery operated cart and were very excited. As a follow up activity children have drawn their favourite animal.

Students
from Class VIII, Eco-Club, attended a workshop on ‘Green Careers’ and Online Portal
‘One Planet Academy ‘at WWF (World Wide Fund, Lodhi Road, Delhi.) The students
were divided into groups and geared up for a group activity. For each activity
there were two groups - defenders and challengers.
The students selected from participating school judged the presentations.
There were eight groups in all.

Two students Ardra Mohan and Aanjney Vishwakiran were felicitated by the
organisers as jury members.
The
workshop enlightened the young minds and encouraged them to safeguard our Earth.
Visit To Market
Children of KG visited the near by DDA market.They observed different food items in the grocery shop where the teacher explained the difference between perishable and non-perishable items . They also went to Mother Dairy where they show various Milk products. Children listed names of fruits and vegetables at vendor’s shop .The activity was followed up by the free hand drawing of the market scene by the children.
Educational Tour To National Bal Bhawan
Students of Class IV visited National BalBhawan on 26/09/2017. National BalBhawan organized various activities – Painting, Sketching, Book Binding and Clay modeling. Children were organized into groups. Each group had different exposure. It gave them opportunity to discuss their experiences. They had a joy ride in a train. The short train travel took them around various states, depicted on the wall. The tour ended with a short visit to aquarium museum. It was a great day for the children.
An Educational Trip for Class XI (Science)
EAST POINT SCHOOL REPORT OF VISIT TO NRCPB CLASS 11TH DAY CAMP On 27th September 2017, East point school organized a day camp for class 11th, in which students from science stream were taken to National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology (NRCPB) which is a premiere research institution of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Prof.S.R.Bhat and Dr.Deepak Bisht spared their precious time with the students to provide them an insight to the experiments conducted in Biotechnology. An orientation was conducted by Prof.S.R.Bhat, in which he interacted with students to highlight about the institute, work done in ICAR so far, scope of biotechnology in India, various universities and colleges teaching biotech as a subject etc. Then the students were divided into two groups for a tour to various labs, one group was headed by Prof.S.R.Bhat and other group was headed by Dr.Deepak. Students were taken to tissue culture lab in which callus was shown, infected plants growing in medium were shown, Laminar air flow machine and its working was explained with a small demonstration of certain precautions essential while working with it. In tissue culture lab students were also shown bacterial culture growth to distinguish between transformants and non-transformants on the basis of chromogenic substrates. Students were then sensitized with the working of Gel electrophoresis, its principle was explained by the scientist working in lab and the working was shown including observation of DNA bands under UV rays. Dr.Deepak was working on rice plants so he took students to his lab and described about his work, also enumerated the working of commonly used machines like Centrifugation and PCR, refrigerator for storage of liquid nitrogen at-196°C, students were excited by seeing the liquid nitrogen at such a low temperature. Then a visit to genomics lab was taken were genome sequencing machine (ilumina hi seq 1000) was shown. Sir also portrayed about gene gun and its working, silver colour bullets on which coating with gold is done at the time of using gene gun was shown and its working was explained with gene gun. To break the monotony of the tour, a refreshing buttermilk was served to students. In the nutshell, it was a practical exposure to the text read from the book.
An Educational Trip for Class XI
On 27th Sep,2107 students of Class XI (Commerce and Humanities Streams ) and XI (Science Stream) Visited Ananda Gram and NRCPB lab, Pusa Institute respectively. while the science stream were exposed to cutting edge technologies of the modern era, commerce and humanities students were illuminated about our traditional art and culture.They came to school at 2:30 pm and were provided with refreshments which was then followed by follow-up activities planned separately for the three streams students.
Trip to Bal Bhawan
The students of class 1 were out for an educational trip to Bal Bhawan on Friday 8th of September 2017. It was a fun filled day with a lot of activities for the little ones. They learnt about clay pottery, worli art, handicrafts and also enjoyed a train ride. They also visited the fish aquarium and were very fascinated.
Excursion to the Doll’s Museum
Children learn the best in altered surroundings and within each other’s company. To facilitate this aspect of learning, the students of class-II of East Point School were taken for an excursion to the Doll’s museum on the 28th of July.It was a veritable dreamland for the children which had about 6,000 dolls of different shapes, sizes and colours from more than 85 countries on display under one roof. It was a funfilled day which enhanced the knowledge of the learners about various states and their type of clothes thereby showcasing the rich culture.
Field trip to India's rich cultural heritage
EPS organised a day camp titled "Architectural Heritage of India" for students of class VIth on 23rd Aug,17.The focus of the camp was to expose the students to India's rich cultural heritage and magnificent architecture various activities were held throughout the day such as visit to humayuns tomb, poster making etc.the students participated with zeal and showed interest is knowing more about Indias Cultural Heritage
An educational trip to Bal Bhawan
Students of class kg had an educational trip to national bal bhawan on 26 July 2017. They saw a variety of birds and animals in the mini zoo and fishes in the aquarium. They enjoyed the mini train ride too. Children did various engaging and fun filled activities like clay modelling and warli painting.
